Every time I cross the border into the US, and stop at Kentucky Fried Chicken, I have curd cakes. Not just the ones they call "cookies" out there. This is the official name, and it originated in "southern" states like Kentucky or Alabama. Here is the recipe for soft and delicious cookies.

Roll out the dough so that the dough is 15 cm by 15 cm (6 by 6 inches)
Cut into 12 equal parts - do not tear them
Cook for 15 minutes (check with a knife)
