Oreo Chocolate Mousse Cake

A Decadent Symphony of Oreos and Silky Chocolate Mousse


Ingredients:


   - For the Oreo Crust:

     - 2 cups crushed Oreo cookies (cream removed)

     - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

   - For the Chocolate Mousse Filling:

     - 2 and 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

     - 1 and 1/2 cups heavy cream

     - 1/4 cup powdered sugar

     - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

   - For the Topping:

     - Crushed Oreo cookies

     - Whipped cream (optional)


Directions:


   1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.

   2. In a bowl, combine crushed Oreo cookies and melted butter for the crust. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.

   3. Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes or until set. Allow it to cool completely.

   4. For the chocolate mousse filling, melt the semisweet chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl.

   5. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer. Pour the hot cream over the melted chocolate, let it sit for a minute, then stir until smooth.

   6. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the chocolate mixture, stirring until well combined.

   7. Pour the chocolate mousse over the cooled Oreo crust and spread it evenly.

   8. Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours or until the mousse is set.

   9. Before serving, sprinkle crushed Oreo cookies on top and add whipped cream if desired.
