Small-Batch Fudge Brownies
Ingredients:
1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter
1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
1/4 cup (50 g) packed brown sugar
1/2 cup (45 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
2 large eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup (65 g) all-purpose flour
1/4 cup (60 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
1/4 cup (60 g) chopped nuts (optional)
Directions:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch (20x20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Prepare the Brownie Batter: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cocoa powder until smooth. Allow the mixture to cool slightly before adding the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract and salt. Stir in the flour until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. If using, fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts.
Bake the Brownies: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. The brownies should be set around the edges but slightly gooey in the center.
Cool and Serve: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares. Enjoy them on their own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
